A recent report from The Verge reveals that Microsoft has stopped building new Xbox One consoles. The manufacturer has discontinued production of the all consoles from that generation.
Microsoft confirmed to The Verge that production for new last-gen consoles has now ended. This move was made to focus on building Xbox Series X and Xbox Series X consoles instead. The senior director of Xbox console product marketing, Cindy Walker, explains that they “stopped production for all Xbox One consoles by the end of 2020”.
This isn’t a new change but it does publicly confirm that the Xbox One will be going out of stock and no more is coming. Retailers will sell through their remaining stocks and then no more new consoles will be available. Microsoft is fully focused on the new generation consoles and has no plans for more Xbox One stock.
