The uncharted series is well known for being one of the most cinematic franchises of all time and finally we’re going to get to enjoy that in full PS5 glory…
And by cinematic, we mean this in a good way, not in a quick-time-event-filled gameplay way, like so many other games out there that claim to be cinematic experiences. Uncharted is and has always been the real deal, it is an adventure up there to the level of the Indian Jones .
That’s what makes Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection such an exciting thing, and now that it is finally coming to the PlayStation 5, so are we about to enjoy it in the best way possible?
Is It A collection?
Just by hearing the title Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, you’d think it is something like the Metal Gear Solid: Legacy Collection, a collection that’d include the entire story of the franchise. But Uncharted decided to go in a different direction, instead of giving us a more of a dual pack. Included in this game are Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and the spin off Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, both remastered especially for PlayStation 5.
If you already own any of these two games, you can just an additional $10 to get this upgraded version. Unless you obtained Uncharted 4 through the PS Plus service, if that’s your case you’ll have to pay the full price of the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.
An upgraded version
This “collection” is not just a port of the games to run natively on the PS5, instead, it is a real remastered version of the two games, and this means there are some real upgrades and changes done to the game such as the removal of multiplayer mode.
However, there are plenty of upgrades in the games, now you’ll be able to experience all the sensations in the game thanks to the integration of the DualSense haptic features, making the gameplay more intense and immersive. The integration of PS5’s 3D audio makes the games a much more cinematic experience, and of course, the very reduced loading times.
They’ve also integrated three different selectable graphic modes:
• Fidelity mode: uses 4K native resolution and aims for a 30f ps for the most part of the game.
• Performance mode: It’s similar to the visual enhancement they made later on with the visual patch for the PS4 and goes for 60 fps.
• Performance mode+: Lowers the resolution to 1080p but performs at an amazing 120fps, perfect if you have a high refresh rate screen.
This is a collection of the two latest games in the Uncharted franchise, and even though Uncharted 4 is an incredible title, Uncharted: Lost Legacy is a little more controversial. Being a spin-off of the franchise, it’s not as easy to have the same love as the game that served as a goodbye for the already beloved characters.
However the two games are solid titles, and with this upgrade, they are definitely worth playing again, and if you haven’t played them yet, you should really wait for these versions. This dual pack has a release date of January 28, and it’s supposed to come to PC later this year. Marking the first time the series makes it into the PC world.
If you’re a fan of the series, a fan of action and adventure, or even just like games in general, you should really check this game out if you can!
