The Total War team has announced that the next Total War: Warhammer game has been delayed into next year. Originally due for a 2021 release, the development team have announced on Twitter that it will be releasing Early 2022 instead.
Total War: WARHAMMER III will now release in early 2022.

We know this is disappointing, but the extra time means we can accomplish more than we could if we rushed to release this year.
We won’t be staying quiet however, join us tomorrow for the global reveal of Grand Cathay… pic.twitter.com/R4GdObAs9P
While a delay is not idea, Creative Assembly commented that the decision was made to “give it a little more time”. Fans of the series have been mostly reacting positively to the news and commenting that the “wait will be worth it”. Considering the negativity regarding “Crunch Time” in recent years, this move is a very positive one.
Total War: Warhammer III won’t be kept in the dark however. Creative Assembly has promised updates will be coming in the future. The global reveal of Grand Cathay will also be coming September 14th and “plenty of new information” will be coming later this year.
