Take-Two recently released its latest earnings report which also revealed the developer cancelled an unannounced project which had cost the company $53 million. Following the report, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier is reporting that the game was being worked on by the developer of Mafia III, Hangar 13.

According to the report from Schreier, the game was in development since 2017 in “various forms” and was codenamed Volt. The game struggled due to reboots, technology issues and “challenges caused by Covid-19”. While the sources didn’t want to be identified since they’re not authorised to talk about the game publicly, the report does note the title was going to include “superheroes competing in online game play”.

There’s no way of knowing what the game was though some rumours suggest it was another Marvel game consider 2K Games is working on Marvel’s Midnight Suns. It’s unlikely this will ever be confirmed or denied and we may never know what the game was.
