More developers seem to be looking at NFTs and now GSC Game World has followed suit by introducing them to the upcoming Stalker 2 game. While Stalker 2 is coming out in April 2022, it’s been announced that the NFT sales will be coming early.
Players can register for “item drops” later this month which will begin in January 2022. NFT items will be included in this which are NPCs with the owners face scanned onto it. While those characters will obviously be unplayable, they will be in the game world for everyone to see and maybe interact with.
The change was introduced as the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Metaverse on Twitter and is completely optional. The Twitter post states there will be some free giveaways for the community in the future but doesn’t explain what this means.
Stalker 2 NFTs will be tradeable on the Dmarket NFT trading platform and there’s currently no pricing information for them. Unfortunately, Steam has banned all blockchain games which means S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will not be available to purchase on the Steam platform.
