First released in 1999, Outcast became in cult-classic and the series quietly faded into obscurity and gaming history. The THQ Nordic Showcase announced that the series hasn’t been forgotten and that a new Outcast game is coming. Outcast 2: A New Beginning takes place 20 years after the original adventure and protagonist Cutter Slade is returning once again.
In the latest game, the planet is under threat of invasion and Cutter must save the planet and its citizens from being enslaved. Outcast 2: A New Beginning is a third-person action-adventure game set in an open world where players need to mount a resistance to liberate it’s people and remove the robot invaders from Adelpha. We can expect a non-linear plot across this sci-fi fantasy world.
THQ Nordic acquired the rights to the Outcast IP in 2019 and it looks like they’ve quickly got to work with a new game for the series. There’s no word on a release date yet but THQ Nordic has confirmed the game will release for PC, Xbox Series consoles and PlayStation 5.
