Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, both Nintendo and Sony have joined the growing list of gaming companies that have stopped doing business with Russia. All game sales and hardware deliveries have been halted indefinitely.
Sony has announced that they have joined the “global community in calling for peace in Ukraine” and are issuing their own sanctions. In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Sony has decided to “suspend all software and hardware shipments, the launch of Gran Turismo 7 and operations of the PlayStation Store in Russia”.
Nintendo has also told Rueters (https://www.reuters.com/technology/sony-nintendo-halt-gaming-shipments-russia-2022-03-10/) they are suspending physical good shipments. This is due to the “considerable volatility surrounding the logistics of shipping and distributing physical goods”. The company is also delaying the release of Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp in response to the “recent world events”.
Both Sony and Nintendo have joined the likes of Microsoft, Epic Games, GOG, Humble Bundle and more who have halted sales in Russia.
