According to a reliable source, Ubisoft has begun development on the first mainline Splinter Cell game in nearly a decade. The next title is in the works, and Ubisoft may reveal it as early as 2022. Of course, this has not been officially confirmed.
Tom Henderson from Video Game Chronicle is a notable leaker and has various sources feeding him information. He recently posted a new article (https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/a-decade-later-ubisoft-has-finally-greenlit-a-new-splinter-cell-sources-claim/) claiming that a source at Ubisoft has provided him the information. The source claims that Ubisoft is reviving Splinter Cell now “as a means of winning back fans” who were unhappy with the VR and mobile games.
According to Henderson’s source, there’s a small chance the game might be announced year but it’s not very likely. They also weren’t sure about what Ubisoft studio is working on the new Splinter Cell game. However, it’s suspected that the game is not being worked on by the Montreal base as is tradition.
