Nerf Legends Preview

Nerf Legends Set to Be Released This October for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch

Featuring Hasbro’s iconic foam-dart ‘blasters’ straight from our childhood, game developers GameMill are bringing a brand-new first-person shooter to our consoles this October. Nerf Legends will dig deep into your inner childhood memories and will thrust you into a sci-fi and futuristic universe where players will battle legions of robot enemies and bosses, all whilst using a variety of iconic Nerf blasters.

It was revealed in the Xbox announcement trailer for the game that the blasters that will be featured will be based on their iconic, real-world counterparts. It is unsure if all blasters will use foam ammunition, as it appears some have some sort of electric discharge based on the trailer alone – but make no mistake, these are definitely Nerf guns.

The game is set to be released in October 2021 for the PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, PC, and last-gen consoles, although an exact release date has not been officially discussed. The game will also have 15 authentic useable blasters from the Nerf Mega, Ultra, and Elite lineups; so, you may very well have one of these blasters lying around in your house.

It appears that the campaign mode of Nerf Legends will take players through 19 futuristic sci-fi environments, where players will face off against hordes of robots, which appear to be the primary enemy in the game’s universe.

There is also a multiplayer game mode and will supposedly support up to eight players in a sort of 4vs4 team-based match, or in a free-for-all game mode. Furthermore, multiplayer content wont exactly be ‘realistic’, and do expect crazy features such as Nerf trick shots, special darts including magnetics and pushing abilities, and ‘seeker’ darts that supposedly will seek onto enemy targets.

Nerf Legends looks like it could be a compelling release from GameMill, who were the developers behind a range of family-friendly games such as Nickelodeon Kart Racers 1 and 2, and the Goosebumps Game. Let’s just see what Nerf Legends has to offer once it is released later this year.
