Metroid 5 Dread – The Metroid that never was

Aj takes a look at Metroid 5 (Metroid Dread). Which is set to be one of the biggest releases on Nintendo Switch this year. Metroid 5 Is already the most pre-ordered game for Nintendo in 2021.

The Metroid that never was… until now

This past E3 Nintendo unveiled a new Metroid game, and even though it wasn’t news about the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4 it was something that’s been around for way longer than that. Metroid Dread has been around from the very early days of the Nintendo DS and has been forgotten for many years.

They premiered a trailer and a gameplay session of the new and final Metroid Dread. And not only does it look amazing, but it is also the first 2D main Metroid game announced in 19 years.

It’s the final entry in the story that began with Metroid for the NES. But the game has changed and the series has evolved a lot from those old days. But even with all the changes, the game retains all the feeling classic fans of the series love.

After watching the gameplay and all the content they’ve shown so far, we are certain that the game experience is exactly what the fans of the series have been waiting for for the past nearly two decades. And it will even please the hardcore fans of the older games.

The exploration is improved, so is the gameplay and checkpoints. There’s even an added element of suspense and thrill that comes from escaping and surviving the EMMI.

This visually stunning game uses 3D models and scenery and makes them work on a 2D game. The new design of the suit and enemies looks incredible, and as usual, you’ll unlock different abilities and upgrades as you explore the game.

Overall, Metroid Dread is right on track to be one of the coolest games of the year coming to Nintendo Switch. It actually already has great reception with the fans, and that is reflected by the sales on the eShop for the Nintendo Wii U, where the top downloads after the announcement were the Metroid games and virtual console games from the series.
