While a digital E3 has not been announced for this year, there has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding the event. The ESA initially confirmed that there would be no in-person event for E3. However, there were also rumours that there would be no digital event. The E3 2022 convention has been officially cancelled.
Even if E3 2022 is cancelled, there will still be gaming events throughout the summer, such as the Summer Game Fest. The publishers who normally hold events and shows during the E3 period may still be planning to release video presentations instead. Nintendo will most likely have a special Nintendo Direct for the summer and other publishers are expected to be making video presentions too.
There will be no official E3 digital showcase this year but we can still expect plenty of gaming news to come from each major publisher.
