It has been officially confirmed by THQ Nordic, the publishers behind the Darksiders franchise, that the third installment of the game is set to be released on the Nintendo Switch on September the 30th, 2021, after the platform already has Darksiders 1 and 2.
Originally released in 2018 on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the sequel to Darksiders II sees players taking control of Fury in a hack-n-slash action adventure, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, on her quest to capture and dispose of the elusive Seven Deadly Sins which take have adopted a corporeal form and have escaped punishment.
Darksiders III features a beautifully presented open-ended game world, including living, free-form, planet Earth, which sees a sort of dilapidated and war-torn aesthetic bound with decay, but yet overrun with nature.
Set to release on September the 30th for the Nintendo Switch platform, Darksiders III will also be accompanied by a physical game release, so video game collectors who prefer physical copies of their games can rejoice, as Darksiders III will not disappoint in this department. The physical version of the game will arrive to select retail stores also on September the 30th.
It has also been confirmed that the Nintendo Switch version will include both the Keepers of the Void DLC and The Crucible DLCs both in the standard base game – as we would have expected, as it is a three-year-old game – and will feature a price tag of 39.99€ / USD 39.99 / £ 34.99 on the Nintendo eShop respective of your region. Physical versions of the game will be priced accordingly by the retailer, however, expect the eShop prices to be a rough indicator of what you might find the game going for.
