CD Projekt Red buys new Indie studio

CD Projekt Red buys an Indie studio to make games for them.

Indie developer The Molasses Flood has been acquired by CD Projekt Red to work on new projects for them. CD Projekt Red first informed their investors of the news and now The Molasses Flood has posted to Twitter about this too.

Posting to Twitter, The Molasses Flood publicly announced the acquisition. The company also confirmed that they’ll be working on a game in the existing CD Projekt IP universe which would most mean The Witcher or Cyberpunk 2077. There’s no confirmation yet about what the new game will be.

The Molasses Flood previously created The Flame In The Flood and Drake Hollow.  It was formed after the closure of Irrational Games in 2017 with some of the previous employees. Irrational Games previously created System Shock 2 and BioShock Infinite.

Hopefully news will be coming in the future about what game The Molasses Flood is working on for CD Projekt Red.
