Four of the largest companies in the video game industry have all confirmed they are temporarily ending sales to Russia in response to the invasion of Ukraine. The games industry seems to be following the rest of the world in protesting Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
Microsoft has announced (https://blogs.microsoft.com/on-the-issues/2022/03/04/microsoft-suspends-russia-sales-ukraine-conflict/) that they will be suspending all Microsoft product sales within Russia. This includes both Xbox and Windows products. Activision Blizzard has also announced (https://activisionblizzard.com/newsroom/2022/03/supporting-the-ukrainian-people) that they will be halting sales within Russia and that they “support the Ukrainian people”. Epic Games has issues a similar statement (https://twitter.com/EpicNewsroom/status/1500236775448588295) and is ending sales in russia “respose to its invasion of Ukraine”.
EA however, has announced (https://www.ea.com/news/update-on-electronic-arts-titles-in-russia-and-belarus) they will be halting sales in both Russia and Belarus in response to the invasion. This is due to Belarus also sending in troops to support Russia in the unprovoked attack on Ukraine.
